Opening SSPaste

Press ⌥⌘V. The six most recent items open next to your pointer; type to search, press Return to paste.

To open the full tray instead, change Settings › General › Show At. To use another shortcut, record it in Settings › Shortcuts.

Choosing an item copies it but does not paste it

Pasting straight into another app needs the Accessibility permission: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility, then turn on SSPaste.

Without it, items are still copied, and you paste them yourself with ⌘V.

Something I copied is not in the history

SSPaste does not record content that other apps mark as confidential or transient, anything copied in an app on your ignore list, or anything copied while recording is paused. All three are in Settings › Rules and the menu bar menu.

It also looks at the clipboard about twice a second, so of two copies made faster than that, only the second may be kept.

Backups and moving to another Mac

Settings › History › Export History… writes your history and Spaces to a folder. On the other Mac, Import Backup… merges it in without making duplicates.

The Private Space is not part of that backup, and its key stays in this Mac’s keychain. Before you move, unlock it and use its own Export…, which writes an unencrypted CSV.

Pro and the trial

Pro is a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. The 14-day trial opens everything in Pro, and nothing is charged when it ends.

On a new Mac or after reinstalling, use Restore Purchases in Settings › SSPaste Pro. Refunds are handled by Apple.

What SSPaste needs

macOS 13 or later. The Liquid Glass theme needs macOS 26; on earlier systems SSPaste uses its translucent theme.

The interface comes in 12 languages and follows your system, or the language you choose in Settings › General.
